On February 1, the ACJ and IIJ started a six-week course for multimedia and online journalism. Key topics are photo services, audio production for podcasts, conceptual and cost planning for podcasts, mobile reporting and content development, as well as utilisation and implementation of web 2.0 technologies and social networks.
The main focus is on training the New Media stream students to produce multimedia content, making use of mobile technology and devices, and using social networks to generate and publish news and content. Tutorials and exercises as well as group work will empower the students to use and embrace current web technology to tell their stories and engage audiences.
The first four weeks of the training will be conducted by Jan Persiel, Art Director and new media specialist, from Germany. Jan Persiel works as a senior trainer for the IIJ since 2005 and other international institutes since 1999. He worked for clients like FIFA, Lufthansa, BMW, ATP Tennis, major German publishing houses and advertising agencies in Germany and the UK.
Peter Trzka who handles the second half of the course is a Online Journalist and New Media trainer, InWent, Berlin.
