ACJ Alumni Asmita Nandy, Meghnad Bose, and Vinita Govindrajan were among the winners of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards. Asmita Nandy and Meghnad Bose (TheQuint.com – Broadcast) were awarded in the category ‘Uncovering India Invisible’ for their documentary that uncovered why lynchings carried out in the name of the cow have become a new normal. ACJ alumnus Vinita Govindrajan (along with Mridula Chary, Scroll.in (Print/Digital), was awarded in the Environment, Science & Technology reporting category for the two-part investigation on how tax regulations allowed farmers to use at least 99 lethal chemical as pesticides. The winners were rewarded for the work done in 2018. President Ram Nath Kovind, was the chief guest of the awards function held in New Delhi on January 20.
