In the course of their journey they run constantly into groups of migrant workers trekking hundreds of kilometers back to their homes in different parts of India and Nepal. Apart from the wrenching accounts of this floating population of highway orphans, their reportages en route cover the stark realities of lockdown destitution – livelihoods lost, farm crisis, the lurking risk of the spurt in virus infection caused by the returning migrants. And through it all the generosity and humanness of those who have little coming to the succour of those who have less.
