Dealing With Civil Servants: A lecture by Former Kannur Collector Mir Muhammad Ali on February 3, 2021

Former Kannur Collector Mir Muhammad Ali used his lecture at the Asian College of Journalism to explain what journalists could do to improve their relationship with civil servants, get more access to information and avoid the spread of rumours.

The IAS officer, who is currently the executive director of Kerala’s Suchitwa Mission, also explained how government offices work and the challenges faced by civil servants while doing their job.

Ali urged the aspiring journalists to deal with public administrators honestly, fairly, and in good faith. He encouraged them to give bureaucrats enough time to comment on important stories and not to publish anything that they are not sure about.
