As part of updation of curriculum, ACJ has made a small beginning in integrating Artificial Intelligence into ACJ’s Integrated Journalism curriculum in a meaningful way. This module has two components – namely, a series of lectures and presentations by students.

The lecture series was delivered by subject expert Dr Ramanujam, which covered the history of AI, components of AI, and ethics and politics of AI. ACJ faculty also delivered a couple of lectures on AI in journalism and its use cases. Dr Ramanujam is a researcher in theoretical computer science and currently a Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, Beijing. Earlier, he was at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai.

After learning about AI, the students get to explore AI tools in a critical manner. Finally, students make group presentations.
